“Going into my senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to do an independent project that highlighted Women in Academia with a focus in STEM. I conducted all the interviews by myself, took every single photo featured, figured out my transportation and gas money for each trip, and starting building this website as soon as my senior year got placed online.

Next year, I will be studying Computer Science at Columbia University and I would love to continue giving recognition to women in academia as my journey in college unfolds. If you or anyone you know would like to be interviewed and photographed (free headshots!), please reach out to me on the contact page.

I would like to give a special thank you to my amazing advisors for this project. Mr. Taylor, my AP English Literature teacher, who always gave me many insightful comments and Mr. Chambers, my Digital Photography teacher, who guided me through the artistic message of this project. I would also like to thank the head of school, Ms. Baker, and my advisor/computer science teacher, Ms. Heinricher, for encouraging me to pursue my project idea.

I would further like to thank my older sister and mom for inspiring to create this project and supporting me every step of the way.”
