Professor Tiffany A. Butler, PhD, ATC
Assistant Teaching Professor in Biomedical Engineering and Director of Multicultural Affairs at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Professor Butler first became interested in kinesiology after enduring an ACL injury in high school where she was unable to get physical therapy to rehabilitate her knee, and she always excelled in math and science classes while growing up. Speaking about her ACL injury, she reflected that it was the obstacles she had to overcome that made her who she is today and helped her prepare to overcome future obstacles with resilience. Professor Butler said, “Struggle breeds success,” and she further emphasized how never giving up has contributed to her success today at WPI.
